The Founding Story
AAIS started where most useful tools start — with a problem the founder was solving for himself.
November 2025
The first experiment
Peter began experimenting with frontier AI on a single repeat task: comparing commercial insurance policy wordings. A three-hour comparison fell to twenty minutes, with more consistent and thoroughly cited analysis.
January 2026
Johns Hopkins — Agentic AI
Peter enrolled in the Agentic AI certificate program at Johns Hopkins University's Whiting School of Engineering — introducing multi-agent pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, structured grounding, blackboard architectures, and the Anthropic Constitutional AI standard.
April 2026
Five-product platform
AAIS had grown into a five-product platform serving Australian insurance brokers, with documented Multi-Agent Design Standards, an AI Governance Overview, and an Australian-resident infrastructure footprint.
Why ‘Broker Plus Lawyer’ Matters
Every system is designed inside the regulatory frame from day one.
Most AI products in insurance are built by software companies and reviewed by lawyers afterwards. AAIS is built by a lawyer who is also a broker. The Insurance Contracts Act, the General Insurance Code of Practice, AFCA approach documents, and ASIC RG 271 are not bolted on at audit time — they are part of the design.
This is the foundation of the AAIS ‘broker-in-the-loop’ model: the AI does the searching, structuring and drafting; the broker reviews, exercises judgment, and remains the licensed adviser to the client. The output is always the broker's — improved, accelerated, and demonstrably documented.
